Tour Itinerary :
Day 1 Jakarta Airport/Hotel – Muara Angke / Jakarta Bay Birding – Hotel
You will be picked up in Jakarta international airport upon arrival by our guide, then we drive to Muara Angke for boat trip Birding at Muara Angke and Jakarta Bay and we expect to see Sunda Coucal ( its rare ), Milky stork, Christmas Frigate Bird, Javan Plovers, Javan Pond Herons, Bar-winged Prinias, Red Breasted Parkeet, Small Minivet, Lesser Whistling-Duck , Sunda-Teal, Whimbrel, Little Cormorant, Clamorous Reed Warbler, Javan Myna, Javan Munia, maybe Sunda pygmy woodpecker, Grey Heron, Purple Heron, Cerulean Blue kingfisher, Racket_Tailed Treepie, Golden-Bellied Greygone, Striated Heron, Cattle Egret, Little Egret, Whisker Tern, Pied Stilt, Erasian Moorhen, Pink-necked Green Pigeon, and maybe Indonesia Honey Eater. ( Important information : if your arrival time is in the morning time, we are able to bird around Muara Angke & Jakarta Bay on Day1, but if your arrival is in the afternoon late, the birding trip will be done on Day 2 after early breakfast at hotel ). Day 2 Jakarta – Cibodas Full Day Birding Tour ( B,L,D)
Early breakfast will be served at hotel, and after breakfast, we drive to Cibodas, takes around 3 to 4 hours driving if there is not traffic jam. Arrival at Cibodas and start for birding tour, and we expect to see Yellow –throated hanging parrot, Javan kingfisher, White flanked sunbird, Pygmy tit, Sunda forktail, Javan forktail/White-crowned forktail, Flame fronted barbet, Rusty-breasted cuckoo, Cenereous tit, Spotted Kestrel, Chesnut-breasted malkoha, Black-winged flycatcher-shrike, Indigo flycatcher, Orange-spotted bulbul, maybe some raptors Black eagle, Javan Hawk Eagle, Banded broadbill, Javan flowerpecker, Olive-backed tailorbird, Lesser shortwing, Little spiderhunter, Blue whistling thrus, Pied shrike babbler, Blue nuthatch, Pygmy Cupwing, and maybe Sunda Thrush (its rare ). Key Species : Yellow-throated hanging parrot, Javan Kingfisher, White flanked Sunbird, Javan Hawk Eagle, Orange-Spotted Bulbul, Pied shrike babbler, Pygmy bushtit, Flame fronted barbet.
Day 3 Gunung Gede Full Day Birding Tour ( B,L,D)
After early morning breakfast, we focus to find some endemic birds in Gunung Gede, and we expect to see, Chestnut-bellied partridge, Crescent-chested babbler, White-bibbed babbler, Javan tesia, Pygmy wren babbler, Pygmy tit, White-bibbed babbler, Javan Blue robin, Javan flowerpecker, Rufous tailed fantail, Javan scop owl, Javan frogmouth, Salvadori nightjar, Spotted Kestrel, Chesnut-Fronted shrike babbler, White Browed shrike babbler, Javan Hawk eagle, Flame fronted barbet, Orange spotted bulbul, Sunda trush ( its rare), Javan grey-throated white eyes, Little spider-hunter, long-billed spider hunter, Tawny breasted partotfinch, Javan Shortwing, Javan Whistling Trush, Thrilling shrike babbler, Rufous fronted Laughingtrush, Javan Banded Broadbill, Indigo Flycatcher, Snowy browed flycatcher.
Day 4 : Cibodas – Gunung Halimun Salak National Park (B,L,D)
Morning birding Cibodas botanical garden to look some birds which missed , and after that we drive to Gunung Halimun National Park on the way to Cikaniki Research Center we do Birding on the Road at the area of Halimun National Park, afternoon birding and night at Cikaniki Research Station/Citalahab. Explore Halimun National Park, is a 400 km2 conservation area in the Indonesian province of West Java on the island of Java Established in 1992, the park comprises two mountains, Mount Salak and Mount Halimun with an 11-kilometer forest corridor It is located near the better known Mount Gede Pangrango National Park but the national park should be accessed from Sukabumi 2 hours drive to the administration post and then 2 hours drive (30 kilometers) again to Cikaniki post gate.
Day 5 : Full Day birding at Gunung Halimun National Park (B,L,D)
Today, will look for the key birds, such as : Javan Hawk eagle, Javan trogon, Javan Sunbird, White belied fantail, Javan and Sunda forktail, white bibbed babbler, White breasted babbler, Spotted crocias, Brown-throated barbet, Flame fronted barbet and Blue Whistling Trush, Javan Cuckooshrike, Pale Blue Jungle Flycatcher, Melodious Bulbul.
Day 6 : Gunung Halimun – Carita (B,L,D)
Moring Birding at Gunung Halimun then drive to Carita by private car, arrival at Carita, check in at Hotel Mutiara. Night birding is available to look for : Oriental bay owl, Sunda scops owl, Spotted wood owl and also maybe mammals species.
Day 7 Carita Full Day Birding Tour (B,L,D)
After breakfast, walking tour birding around Carita Forest Park, where we will look for some key species, Javan Owlet ( its rare ), Javan Frogmouth, Javan Banded Pitta, Javan Black Capped Babbler, Grey cheeked Tit-Babbler, Black Banded Barbet, Javan Sunbird, and maybe Javan Kingfisher if we still have much time. Lunch will be served at the local restaurant, and then at 2PM, we start again for birding in the afternoon to look for Plantive Cuckoo, Banded Bay Cuckoo, Little bronze cuckoo, Pied Triller, Common Flameback, Sunda Pygmy Woodpecker, Freckle-Breasted Woodpecker, Grey-rumped treeswift, Orange-belied flowerpecker, Fork-tailed drongo cuckoo, Ashy drongo, Small minivet, Brown throated sunbird, Lesser coucal, Chestnut-breasted malkoha, Little spiderhunter, Javan munia, Scaly-breasted munia, White-headed munia, Collared kingfisher, Blue-eared kingfisher, White-throated kingfisher, Scarlet-headed flowerpecker, Coppersmith barbet, Yellow-eared barbet. Night birding is available
Day 8 Carita – Ujung Kulon Birding Tour ( B,L,D)
After we have had breakfast, we cruise to Ujung Kulon by speed boat and on the way to Ujung Kulon, we hope to see shore birds species, such as Lesser frigatebird, Little tern, Great crested tern, Black-napped tern, Bridled tern, Aleutian tern, Roseate tern, Brown noddy, and maybe white tern. Arrival at Ujung Kulon, short walking and birding where we will bird photography in the hide and also to look key species : Javan Banded Pitta, Javan Owlet, Javan Frogmouth, Javan Forktail, Javan babbler/ White-Breasted Babbler, Javan Black Capped Babbler, Javan Kingfisher, Javan Blue –Banded Kingfisher, Javan hawk eagle, Javan sunbird, Javan tit babbler/Grey-cheeked tit babbler, Javan plover Javan bulbul, Javan leafbird, Small blue kingfisher, Chestnut-Capped Babbler, Streaky-Breasted ( Javan) Spiderhunter, Yellow-Throated Hanging Parrot, Black-Banded Barbet, Brown-throated barbet, Zebra woodpecker, Olive-backed tailorbird, Bar -winged prinia, Scarlet- headed flowerpecker, Green Peafowl. Then afternoon at 4PM, we cruise to Peucang Island by speed boat, arrival at Peucang Island, check in at the Seaside accommodation. Explore the beautiful Peucang Island, the unique and delightful island of Peucang lies in clear blue waters off the north western coastline of the Ujung Kulon Peninsula. Its white-sand beaches and coral reef shores hold a fascinating world of marine life while Peucang’s impressive forest shelters an abundance of wildlife, some of which graze and play around the lodges. Opposite Peucang Island across a 800 meters channel is the Ujung Kulon Peninsula with a wide variety of attraction. Peucang Island’s beach is superb for swimming and shallow snorkeling reefs are also found all along the shore. For deeper snorkeling there are coral reefs to the east, midway between the Island and mainland. Dinner will be provided.
D9 Ujung Kulon Birding Full Day Tour (B,L,D)
Breakfast will be served on the boat while you are enjoying the beautiful morning at the island, and sometimes the Stork-billed kingfisher can be encountered around the beach and also the beautiful white-bellied sea eagle. And after we have had breakfast, we cruise to the mainland to look Ruddy kingfisher, Javan forktail, Asian fairy bluebird, Black-capped kingfisher, Fulvous-chested jungleflycacther, the Green peafowl, Crimson sunbird, Green imperial pigeon, Pied imperial pigeon, Blue-throated bee eater, Chestnut-headed bee eater and many others. Explore Cidaon. And after that, we cruise back to Peucang Island to bird around the island to look for Wreathed hornbill, maybe rhinoceros hornbill and Oriental-pied hornbill.
D10 Birding Ujung Kulon – Marina Carita – Way Kambas Birding Tour (B,L,D)
After early breakfast at the restaurant, we cruise to Cibom where we will explore some birds species around Cibom and Tanjung Layar, such as : Large wren babbler, blue-whistling thrush, lesser racket –tailed drongo, Rhinoceros hornbill, Chestnut-breasted malkoha, White-rumped shama and many others. Birding at Tanjung Layar, and its possible to look for the shore birds around Tanjung Layar where the shore birds can be scanning from the lighthouse, then we cruise back to the accommodation for check out, then we cruise back to Marina Carita, arrival at Marina Carita, then we drive to Merak harbor where we will continue to drive to Way Kambas National Park, arrival at Way Kambas, check in at the lodge.
Day 11 Way Kambas Birding Tour – Way Kanan Birding Tour ( B,L,D)
Today we will explore the lowland in Sumatra Way Kambas National Park, and we expect to see the beautiful Malayan banded pitta, Diard’s Trogon, Rufous-collared Kingfisher, Red-bearded Bee-eater, Red-naped Trogon, Banded Broadbill, Scarlet-rumped Trogon , Olive-backed Woodpecker, Buff-necked Woodpecker, Grey-and-buff Woodpecker, Crimson-winged Woodpecker, Banded Woodpecker and White-bellied Woodpecker. Also it will be possible to have an experience Night Birding at Way Kambas where we will look for nocturnal and we hope to see : Oriental bay owl, Large Frogmouth, Reddish Scops Owl, Bonaparte’s Nightjar, Sunda Frogmouth, Brown Boobook, Gould’s Frogmouth, Malaysian Eared Nightjar, Large-tailed Nightjar. Day 12 Way Kambas Birding Tour – Way Kanan Birding Tour ( B,L,D)
Breakfast and coffee break will be served in the middle of the jungle while you are enjoying a cup of coffee. And after breakfast, we will look for Green Broadbill, Blue-crowned Hanging Parrot, Dark-throated Oriole, Black Magpie , Sumatran Babbler, Ferruginous Babbler, Chestnut-rumped Babbler, Black-capped Babbler and maybe Fluffy-backed Tit-Babbler. Day 13 Way Kambas Birding Tour – Raden Intan Airport ( B,L,)
Before you will be drop off to Raden Intan airport, its available for short birding to look some birds which missed in the previous day. Then we drive to Raden Intan airport in Lampung to continue the next trip to Jakarta international airport. End of the trip.
